Guest al76 Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Can anyone advise how to remove the engine cover Quote
smokescreen Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Pull upwards carefully - its located by a shaped ball on a plastic spike hanging down from the cover locating into a socket on the engine top X 2. Ensure you lift vertically otherwise the spike breaks away from the cover. I'm on my third top cover as the two previous ones were broken by the garage technicians when it was being serviced. Guest al76 Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Smokescreen, Many thanks for the information, I am considering fitting a plug in chipping unit, do you have any experience of such units. Cheers Al76 Quote
smokescreen Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Yes and No!! When I was considering the purchase of a C3 HDI, I was concerned that the 70bhp of the 8v engine would be gutless. I expressed my concern to the Citroen Main Dealer and the salesmen checked with the Service/Spares Dept and told me that they could supply a plug in unit (quick to fit) which would boost the bhp to 92. Also, this was a Citroen approved one and would not affect the warranty. Needless to say I haven't bought one - from memory I was quoted £350. Hope this helps. stimulator Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Beware some plug in chipping units are just a variable resistor worth 50p in a fancy box worth 50p. All they do is tell the ecu to overfuel the car by kidding it that it's colder than it is. Quote
