Skipweasel Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 I've got a folding IR "plipper" type key that doesn't turn my ignition lock and a plain key that does. I'd like to get a new blade cut from the working key and install it in the folding key - but I can't see how to get the pivot rivet out of the folding key. My guess is that you drill it out and a new one comes with the new blade - but before I resort to brute force and ignorance (I can do both!) does anyone know how the folding key pivot is supposed to come out? Thanks - Skipweasel Quote
Guest black-fingernail Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 I think you are overqualified, only brute force is required... well actually you are dead right, drill and punch is the routine, it may be worth robbing your local breakers for busted plips to practise on. If you get it wrong you then might have enough bits to assemble a new plip. Quote
