dobbin Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 I think my C3 Exclusive is supposed to have electric folding door mirrors that fold in when you switch the car off. It doesn't have them. Does anyone else have these? Have they been taken off the spec? Can I insist that they fit them? Are they any good anyway? Cheers for any advice. Quote
pork_pie Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 No they don't fold automatically when you switch the car off. You need to twist the mirror aduster knob either direction so that the dot points down to 6 o clock. I had these on my old 52 Exclusive. As for retorfitting them, forget it. Nice thing to show off in but whats wrong with doing them manually. Quote
dobbin Posted December 15, 2004 Author Posted December 15, 2004 Cheers for your answer Pork Pie, Thats what it says in the manual, but my controls don't have a 6 o'clock position? Its not that I'm desparate for them, but I think if they advertise the car with them, then they should put them on! I expect there is some small print that says they can do what they like and change the spec, and that annoys me. As I have previously had a wing mirror broken off (my Pug 106) by someone and it cost a lot for a new one, it would be nice if they folded away like they are supposed to. Quote
mitch Posted December 15, 2004 Posted December 15, 2004 Twist the mirror control knob until it points at the floor. I know it doesn't actually say it anywhere. Then (assuming the ignition is on) the mirrors will fold back. The mirrors also heat up and demist but only in combination with the rear screen heater. Quote

It must be frustrating to know that your car is not specced to what the literature says even though the disclaimier about changing spec and giving no notice makes the pain even greater. Back in Oct 2002 when the VAT off deals came out it said in the literature the my C3 Hdi exc i was interested in would come with auto headlights and on board computer. I was promised my car would come with them. Took delivery of my car and it did not have these items. Even though I was very miffed, I really would not benefitted in life with these extra features that would put a strain on an already fragile ECU. However it did come with the folding mirrors and 16 months of sheer motoring hell. Quote

I'm into my second year of ownership of a C3 HDI exc and am quite happy with the spec, and relaibilty of the car. Quote

The mirror control knob has a white triangle at the bottom (6 o'clock) position. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TWIST YOUR CONTROL KNOB to the 6 o'clck position if it's not marked as it will snap off. replacemment unit is £12.50. Activation of the auto headlights has to be done you. The dealers deliver the car with them defaulted OFF. To activate, put ignition to first position and press and hold IN the button on the end of the lights stalk (lefthand stalk) until a beep is heard and the display says 'AUTO HEADLIGHTS ACTIVE' To deactivate the system carry out again. jazzster Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 I have just ordered a C3 1.6 Exclusive Sensodrive I asked the dealer if the folding mirrors were still standard, they did not know for sure but thought they where. They had no brochures left so could not look. Hope I have done the right thing buying Citroen Sensodrive seems a lot of problems on here with lots of different models Quote
hertsnminds Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 Coming up for 12 months and about 14,000 miles with my Sensodrive. Took me about 6 months to change my driving style (probably as I have only driven cars with manual clutches until this one). Now I am used to it things are fine, I do sometimes get passengers asking what the 'clicking' sound is. I have to tell them it is me changing gear with the paddles :D Had one scary moment on a slippery cold morning when the car switched to snow mode just as I was about to pull onto a roundabout. But apart from that the system seems to work quite well. In terms of economy the best I have managed is 390 miles from about 41 litres (9.018 gallons), around 43mpg, which is pretty good from a 1.6 engine. The trip computer told me I had done 47mpg. jazzster Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Why is it the dealers promise a date of 2 March take deposit and phone 2 days later phone and say they can not get one for 6 weeks. :D Any one know if the folding mirrors ar still on new cars and what to "pack look" that is listed on citroen site consists of.
