Xantia Gauges U/s

Hi folks, am looking for a good TD xantia about 1996, test drove one this morning that was very good engine/geerbox/suspension wise but the speedo,rev counter and temp gauge where not working. Not fuses as i checked. All the warning lights work as does the trip and odometer. Also the ABS light was on but ABS seemed to be working. Dont want to reject a car that has simple minor faults that I could easily fix.

I have a 2000 W HDi Exclusive with the same problem, I have been told by Citroen garage it is the dashboard computer that is faulty. 350pound part + complete dashboard removal. The car has only 50,000 miles and has been in my family since new but is now proabably only worth 1.2k or so at most. I suspect I will need to scrap it as the cost of repair is more than value of car! Boo hoo.
