The person in the next car at the traffic lights think i am a boyracer and wanting a race but that is not the case. Also when driving the revvs seem to get really high all on it own!!! Please can anyone shed some light on this for me. Many thanks

Hello. Sounds like you might have a leak in one of the vacum hoses on the throttle boddy. Check for any perishing os rubber and replace where nessesary.

Other thing could be a loose or trapped accelerator cable. move the throttle valve with your hand under the engine to check for any 'stop' spots where it sticks or is very loose. Check the springs on that as well

Hope it's one of the above:-)

guy if there both tds check your engine oil, if there is to much engine oil in your engine this can cause the engine to rev on its own as it will be running on the engine oil though the turbo

Hi i have a 1.8 i model petrol that had an idle problem (cold start revs low till engine warmed up ) so i took it to solent citroen in portsmouth and they put it on there mapping machine and it came back with stepper motor fault, so i bought a new one from them. now the thing starts very well till the engine is warm and now it ticks over between 1250 and 2000 revs i have since phoned solent citroen about this and now they tell me that the mapping system that all citroen dealers use will stop checking when it finds one fault then you get this fixed and then you have to take it back to them if another problem occurs after paying out to get the first prob fixed, so does anyone have any idea why my car is now over revving seeing as the mainh dealer here in portsmouth doesent seem to have a clue, thanks for any help anyone can give.
