Guest citroenc8 Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Hiya. My kids have managed to jam the central locking  on my C8 - one of them pressed the key fob whilst the other one was inside the car pressing the locking thingumy at the front. I now have a situation where the key fob won't work at all, and where it will lock the drivers door or passenger door manually but where the back doors cannot be locked at all and the boot cannot be opened. I don't think anything is 'broken' it's just jammed and needs to be reset. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to do this without having to take off door panels etc.? Thanks. Quote
themaginns Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 This has happened to me. If you disconnect the battery for a few minutes (it's under a floor panel at the drivers seat) then reconnect you should be all set. BTW - when you do this you'll have to reset radio stations and date time etc on the multi function display. If you attempt to start the car too soon after inserting the key you'll get an imobliser fault warning but it will sort itself out if you leave it for a minute or so (instructions in the car manual) Hope this helps______________________________________ Hiya. amb Posted December 23, 2007 Posted December 23, 2007 When I have had things like this happen to my C8 all the Citroen Dealer did was disconnect the main vehicle battery, leave it disconnected for 10 -15 mins and then reconnect. Hey presto! the fault had gone and all was well again for a few weeks. Hope this helps, sorry no one responded sooner. :) Quote

Couldn't even get into it the old fashioned way with the key to start with, but finally realsed that the passenger door also had a keyhole, stuck it in, and it opened, nothing else would so we all clambered in through that. When we got back to where we were staying I applied the notion that like a PC, shut it down and restart, and it may be okay, so yes, I too disconneted the battery, and it then started to work again. However, it happened a gain, and it shouldn't, and on that basis, and to try and cure various other faults, the dealer eventually replaced the 'BSI' which I believe is effectively its main brain. Not had time to see if it has done the trick yet as it is an intermittent fault....we can but hope its sorted!!! Quote
