No! and my name's not Jack.

No there isn't unfortunately, he would need to buy an FM transmitter and tune the radio into it.

The CD player is supposed to play mp3 discs. Mine tries but can't actually get any noise out of them.

I imagine a decent fitter of ICE equipment should be able to install a jack in a suitable location. Couldn't hazard a guess at the price of such an operation.

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable in this area will be along to further enlighten us.

also a trip to the ICE section of the forum might be productive.

Ooh Ooh I know this one!!!!

Having just gone to a lot of trouble to get my audio entertainment how I want it, you have a few choices.

1, Do as myglaren says and get one of those FM tuner thingys - cheapest and perfectly good for the job.

2, If your car does not have the cd changer fitted but does have the button for it on the radio, then do a search for 'connects2' dot com and for roughly 75 quid you can get a gizmo that will utilise the cd changer output and convert it to a mp3/ipod socket somewhere in the car which means you don't have to lose the stereo. Plus you'll not lose the display on the dash.

3, I wanted a usb socket in the car to play my music from a memory stick and the only way to do that was to change the stereo completely for one with usb connection. A bit of a minefield plus you need to get a wiring adaptor from Citroen (4 quid) but now my stick is connected to a usb cable in the glove compartment out of sight and I have access to my 29 hours of music without a single cd or ipod in the car. Whole thing cost roughly £200 to set up but well worth it.

Or if you really want to keep up with the times, why not invest in one of those gps jobbies with the bluetooth and FM transmitter built in? Download all your music onto a memory card that fits the gps, then tune in to your stereo, then you have your music, phone and navigation all through one unit.

Hope this helps!

Probably better off with an mp3 "Transmitter" such as the Belkin Tunecast which will broadcast your player on an unused fm frequency. They used to be illegal but they are now openly sold in places like PC world for about 20 spot. There are loads of cheapo chinese immitations on ebay as well but as the saying goes, "you gets what you pays for!" I know, for I was "that" soldier! The Tunecast will automatically shut down when you turn off your mp3 as soon as it senses no audio input, cheapo immitations don't! Cheers Hope this helps
