MK_deanie Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Hi, My 51 Reg Xsara has started to cut out as I slow down to come to halt. It's all very smooth (but unexpected and dangerous) - I depress the clutch and suddenly find the revs have dropped to zero. The problem is intermittent and the local garage couldn't find a significant error when they ran a diagnostic. Car starts immediately and without problem. Occasionally the car will 'kangaroo' in certain situations e.g. pulling away from a hill start, increasing speed in 2nd gear. I don't see problems at high speed (unlike a previous contributor). Anyone got any thoughts/experience? I've seen on other sites some references to MAP sensors. Thanks Quote
shakey Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 alright mate, the MAP sensor is a fairly common fault on the 1.6 16valve petrol xsaras, your problem sounds to me like an ignition problem, probably spark plugs or a coil pack Quote
