Hi to you all.

Many thanks Mr. Collins about the previous post.

Now what I'll be glad to abtain is a diagram to connect the tow bar electric .My Xantia is a 1998 estate TD , had the tow bar fixed a year ago all the cable are in place but are not connected whit the car main source,or electrics cable .

Has anyone been dealing with this issue ? or knows a good website that can give a good help? so far my search has been worthless .

I manage while ago to find somenthing similiar for a golf and whit plenty of patience all went well, hope to get lucky again.

Many thanks to anyone.

Regarding your towing electrics. The plug on the towbar will have 7 pins in it Take it apart and you will see that each pin is numbered. The cable hac 7 cores each of which is a different colour. They should be connected as follows.

  1. Yellow - L/H Direction Indicator.
  2. Blue - Rear Fog Lamps
  3. White - Earth Return
  4. Green - R/H Direction Indicator
  5. Brown - R/H Tail & No plate lamp
  6. Red - Stop (Brake) Lamps
  7. Black - L/H Tail & No Plate Lamps

If You remove the rear lamps from the vehicle you should be able to determine which wire serves which lamp. There are wiring diagrams in the Xantia Manual (Haynes) and I strongly suggest that you get one before going any further. This will tell you which colour wire Citroen uses for each service. "Scotchblock" connectors are a good way of connecting it all up and you'll be able to get them at the same time as your manual. Cheers. Hope this helps.
