markleigh Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Had an Audi A2 which was written off in December and have just ordered C3 1.4 SX Hdi sensodrive - due end March. (Reason is that I wanted economy of diesel but missed not having an automatic when I had the A2) Hope I made right decision as there are lot on conflicting reports on various web site as to build quality - some owners swear by their cars - others at them... - Anyhow, it's on order HOWEVER I know the std car doesn't come with an alarm, and the citroen one (dealer fit) is £470 inc fitting - according to Citroen web site. Has anyone fitted an alarm to their car that works with the std door remote,. ie I don't want one remote to open the door and one to arm the alarm. - Also, has anyone fitted electric window kits to the rears doors. You can buy 'universal' kits but I am not sure if these are any good... I'm sure this will be the first of many posts about my car so any help you can give is welcome. Many thanks Mark Quote
hertsnminds Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 I would be wary of fitting 3rd party accessories to a new car. There have been people on this forum who have change the radio/cd and been told this invalidates the 3 year warranty. This is partly becasue when it comes to a service the cars diagnostic computers report faults and some 3rd party electrics interfere with this. If you must have all of the items you list look for a used varient with them. Remember Citroens do not hold their value so you will pay much less for a higher spec used car. As an example a 1.6 Pluriel is worth about £10,000 less than the new price after 3 years. Other C3's have a similar depreciation. Ian Orange 03 Senso Quote
CE08LDB Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 The Dealers can be very funny when it comes to the warranty. If you are a willing to pay Citroen Dealer prices for the items you want adding I would have them to do it because they know what they are doing and should any faults appear then it should not affect the warranty because the dealer did the fitting. At my local dealership if I ever any problems or my family have any problems with their Citroens I do speak to a guy in the Sales Dept who gets jobs or equipment which needs replacing under warranty done straight away.
