pierrej Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 I recently bought a 2001 xsara 1.4, less than a month after i had bought it some d#ckless vauxhall corsa driver (i know it to be a corsa as he left his wheel covera) t@sser hit the rear right bumper side while the car was parked at night and drove off. Damage is just comestic but the local citroen garage quoted me £500 estimate to get it fixed. i could claim off the insurance but that would mean losing my no claims bonus and having to pay £250 excess towards the repairs. Now the car is experiencing electrical problems, the left indicator comes on all by itself whilst driving. The other night as it was cold i put the heating on(aimed solely at the front windscreen) and i noticed the aircon light was on, i switched it off and the heating just went on full and hasn't stopped since. Has anyone else had any of these problems? new but still happy citroen xsara owner. Quote
Jonno Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 The aircon light will illuminate if you select demist of the front screen - its an automatic function. If you don't want the aircon on in that mode just press the button to switch it off. I can't comment on why the blower should be operating at full speed all the time though - unless the rheostat on the motor that controls its speed is faulty. As for the ligts Sounds as though you may have a bad earth somewhere on your lights and its earthing through the indicator circuit. Check the wiring to the light unit in question and trace out the earth lead to make sure its still attached and secure. I feel for you mate, there are some tossers out there who just don't give a sh!t about other peoples property. Hope you get it fixed up without too much hassle Quote
solo1874 Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Hi Heater on full speed, may be the transistors on the motor, sorry to say I've come across this and so have many people with xsara's, Berlingos and C3 I've also seen reported. I have an easy guide to doing it on the mark 1 xsara and presumably this can also relate to the rest as it seems to be common. solo1874@hotmail.com CheersJohn Quote
