GreedyPig Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 Had this problem for the second day today. Yesterday morning, started the car as usual, pulled off the drive and the first time I went to use the brakes - nothing! Pedal was fixed in position and didn't move. Then, as if nothing happened, the pedal depressed and the brakes came on. Didn't hit anything luckily. I stopped, checked fluid level - all ok. Started again and brakes were efficient all day as usual. Thought it as 'one of those things'. Same happened again this morning. What's going on? Air temperature 4 degrees - thought maybe ice or frost had something to do with it, but doesn't seem likely. Car is 14 months old so still covered by warranty. Anyone similar experiences or solutions? Many thanks all, in anticipation. Quote
GreedyPig Posted December 20, 2007 Author Posted December 20, 2007 Just been to main dealer who suggest it is the vacuum pump and have ordered another. All under warranty. Just so as you know. I'll let you know if it fixes the problem as it won't be done until after Christmas. Quote
GreedyPig Posted January 13, 2008 Author Posted January 13, 2008 Success. New vacuum pump is the solution. Quote
