Guest pras Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 When I pull off I can here a soft grinding noise and when I dip the clutch while in motion it goes away. Sometimes when I am stationary I can hear the same sound but when I bring the clutch up to near biting point the sound disappears. Is it possibly for someone to tell me what this is? Quote
Guest Kane Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Hi, sounds like symtoms of the clutch thrust / release bearing on it's way out. I had a late 306 diesel which had the same problem and went on for another 8000 odd miles before the noise started to get annoying, as long as the clutch is not slipping or juddering then it's up to you if you decide to get it looked at. Happy Christmas to you and to all on the site. Quote
Guest pras Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Thanks for the reply Kane. There is no clutch slip but there is a very very slight judder on pull away which can be resolved by giving it more pressing on the accelerator. The gears engage fine though. Quote
