Guest Pete_A Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 I have a C5 vtr saloon/hatchback which is a 53 reg. Not that it should have anything to do with it, but since changing my front side drivers wheel yesterday, my boot open alarm is constantly on. I cannot fully lock the car remotely or with the key. when I try remotely, it makes two clicks, one when locking, and one when it unlocks again, as it thinks the boot is open and beeps. If I try remote again,it just makes two click as it locks and unlocks again. I can lock both front doors, as they have key holes, but cannot lock the boot or rear doors. I think everything else is ok , though possibly the rear wiper isn't working properly. When I turn it on, it doesnt wipe immediatly, but does if I use the rear washers. Quote

Have you checked that there is nothing jammed in the boot lid stopping it from shutting properly? Maybe that bit of string you lift the carpet up with? Quote
legin Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 The same thing happens to my rear wiper. It seams to happen after I use the washer or leave it running awhile. It's like there is a pre set time delay which stays until every thing is switched off for a while.Always works first time next time. Quote

I have a C5 on a '51' plate and have a similar but intermitent problem.... Rather than the boot open alarm been constantly on I get a message on the lcd display saying the Right Front Door is open, even when it is securely closed. I then get the identical problems when I try to lock the car with the remote fob with getting the 2 clicks of locking then unlockin... or with the key I can lock the front doors but not the boot or the rear doors... which cannot even be locked manually from inside the car. hasher Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Hi, Just picked up on this thread having searched for various problems. I have a C5 2001 HPI Exclusive. Not long after I bought it (about 18months ago) I got the dreaded Antipolution Fault, but no probs until it started stopping (?), going down to tickover until shut off and restarted. Eventually took it to Citroen dealer, who diagnosed stuffed fuel pump. £10 I think! Think again. With software upgrades, parts and labour total £679.70. Pump itself £375. Now have had antipolution fault again, which actually started 6 weeks after pump replaced. Got them to check it wasn't the new pump, and they diagnosed EGR knackered. Replacement about £350-400 all up. Told them to get stuffed. Been driving it like that for about 12 months, just a bit sluggish some times, and still get 33-34 mpg. Thanks for info about blocked EGR. I will get it apart this weekend and try that option. Was looking to replace it myself but told parts are about £200 + VAT. Spark plugs, BTW, were quoted at £100 to be replaced. I have a trade card with Halfords, and got a set for £36. I use a long socket with a bit of rubber binged in it to get them out of the deep hole. Quote
