clairelu Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 Hello there, I have had my Citroen C1 Cool for a couple of months and as the weather has got colder and wetter I don't seem to be able to get the airflow/heating/cooling correct to get rid of condensation. My windscreen seems to mist very quickly but more worryingly my side door windows don't seem to clear at all when the windscreen does. I have had a near miss on a mini-roundabout as I could not see at all out of my drivers window. I have to say I am new to driving so am not sure if it is lack of experience or a problem with the car. Not sure whether to use hot or cold, fan or airconditioning and what setting to have the fan on. I'm also not sure whether to direct the air flow vents away from or towards the windows, seems to steam up either way!! Help! Quote
PaulCartwright Posted January 1, 2008 Posted January 1, 2008 hi there i find the quicket way to clear the windscreen is first to have a clean windscreen but set the temp to the lowest it will go then crank up the A/C and set it to blow on the windscreen and as for the side window it may be worth letting the wondow clear before setting off but i would have thought if you point the vents at the window it should clear Quote
ColinC1 Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 If you do not have A/C like me, then... Carry two rags, one to clean outside windows, the other to do the inside of the windscreen and the inside side windows. At first all your going to get is cold air, turn your heat setting to full, set to windscreen position, and once the temp starts to come up turn the fan to the two speed setting or more. Make sure your side vents are angled towards the side windows. After your screen is clear, then return to the usual windscreen/floor setting, and turn back to normal fan speed. FINALLY... if you have excessive condensation in the cabin, have you checked to see if your carpets (and under them) are dry. If not, then you have a door leak problem, with rain water getting in, (this is quite common on C1, 107, Aygo, and needs to be returned to the dealer to look at the door seals). Quote
arrows Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Check your heater contro, is not set on recirculation too! Quote
750Nig Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Check your heater contro, is not set on recirculation too! If you have A/C then you should set the control to recirculation as A/C dries out the air very fast. Thats why it can be a bit uncomfortable with A/C on for long periods - dry eyes etc. CheersNig Quote
Martin_1973_uk Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Its fairly obvious that you have left your recirc switch on. Its the sliding dial in the middle of the bit that lights up in the centre of the dash below the stereo. If this is not the case then the switch is broken and its jammed on. Mine is a C1 Cool and even though it takes a longer time to warm up than a Ford it clears well once warmed up. Excellent car so far...... Quote
750Nig Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Just checked on the Citroen website, the Cool has air con. The quickest why to get rid of the mist is when you first start the car, put the air con on and make sure the recirc switch is on and the fan is at max speed. Trust me, it works. :( Quote
