Citreon Xantia Vsx Parts

hi there, new to the site, had my xantia about 5 yrs now its covered 225,000 miles with very few problems. only the usual parts replaced like the spheres replaced. the only problem i have got that i cant figure out is the heater as it will not get hot unless the car is standing still.i have changed the thermostat twice just incase the first one was faulty. no loss of water temperature gauge in the car reads about 77 degrees all control on heater work fine. if i leave it standing but running it gets up to temp and rad fans come on when it reaches just over 90 and the heater blows nice and hot. if you drive half mile down rd heater blows cold.radiator is cold at the bottom and hot at the top. checked for air locks and there are none. has any one had a similar problem and how can i fix it!!
