jode Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Hi, I'm hoping some of you Pluriel experts can help me out here. I have owned my pluriel since June 03 and only done ~24,000 miles, however have major leakage problems - the passenger footwell is currently FULL of water - i reckon about 10 pints worth - and the boot is also saturated. There is also a leak on both doors at the top which drips on you in the rain. I have had the boot and door seals replaced once before, a year ago - but already the water is back. I went to a dealer today who say the cost of fixing the problem is £2,000, obviously I screamed, and eventually citroen have agreed to pay the cost of the parts which leaves me with the labour charges ~£1,400 (on estimation). Also there is a condition.....it has to get fixed at a citroen dealership.....at a discounted hourly labour rate of £95per hour! Apparently this is a known problem and citroen have developed new seals, which they are only replacing when people report certain leakage problems. I feel totally outraged at the cost of this and am wondering if:a) this has happened to anyone else:lol: anyone know the likely re-sell value of such a young car (my thoughts are its prob not much more than £2k....?c) any other suggestions for stopping the water inflow...?! I do love my car, but the cost per mile is ridiculous - would have cheaper to get taxi's everywhere (and that is not taking into account insurance, road tax and petrol.....!!) Any advice greatfully received!J Quote
hertsnminds Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 If the parts are only £600 I would buy them and fit them myself saving £1,400 or find an independent garage to quote on fitting. As your car is now well out of warranty you won't get too much help from Citroen. If your boot leak is because of the roof cassette (as mine was) then you are looking at £300 for a new roof cassette. You could try vaseline on the rubber seals where they meet to see if it makes them more water tight but in my experience if you have a leaky Pluriel then you are one of the unlucky ones and are best getting shot of it. What car says the car is worth between £4k and £6k, AutoTrader has them around £5k but that means the dealer has paid at least £1k less than that. Your problem is getting rid of it with all the leaks, even if it was valued at £4k it needs at least £600 worth of parts to put right. Ian(Traded in leaky Pluriel for a C4) Quote
