RugbyPete Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Haynes manual says once the coolant has stopped dripping from the coolant drain outlet, undo the cylinder block drain plug. What cylinder? The engine cylinders?? It has no pic and I only know where the oil sump plug is. Quote
Guest Colin Hunter Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 There may be a drain plug on the engine block. If so it will most likely be on the back of the block as the engine is partially laid on its back. If so you'll have to take the undertray off to find it. However if you're changing the coolant it shouldn't hurt to leave the small amount that will remain in the engine block in the system. I've never bothered doing it and I've never had any problems because of it. You'll be changing the bulk of it if you've drained it through the radiator drain and opened all the bleeds to allow better draining. Cheers hope this helps. Quote
RugbyPete Posted January 20, 2008 Author Posted January 20, 2008 Yeah, shed loads of fluid came out of that bottom plug, and a load more when the bleeds were openedtook a good 8 litres to fil back up so i guess theres not much back there. used the advanced stuff to, last 5 years, i can change it after 3-4. Took all of 5 minutes unlike the oil change on my bros polo which took 2 hours today :) Quote
