candpdoyle Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Hi There My small leak at the power steering pump failed rather badly today... turns out it is a high pressure pipe :( lhm sprayed everywhere... popped in to the main stealer and the pipe is £92 + vat... which is bloody annoying as the only thing wrong with the old pipe is the little olive at the pipe end has failed... so the union is not sealing.. The pipe looks like a compleate pig to change out, but unless someone has a better suggestion i suppose i will have to strip it all out and atake a trip to the scrappy... Hope some one has good news and the pipe can be flared with some sort of either cheap or homemade tool  CheersChris Quote
Guest Colin Hunter Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Have you had a look at Pleiades website? http://www.citroen-hydraulics.com/ They might be able to help you in your hour of need! :) Cheers :D Quote
candpdoyle Posted January 24, 2008 Author Posted January 24, 2008 Cheers again Colin... had a look at that site ,but cant see what i need. I have stripped the pipe out now(not nearly as bad as i thought it would be) and it is actually a lot shorter than i thought.. it ia all metal and runs between the accululater sphere and the power steering pump.... am off to my local breakers tomorrow afternoon to spend some time crawling around in the mud trying to find a good one. :) As an aside...looking at the assembly... this could well have been the cause of my exessive ticking from the accumulater??? so maybe this pipe will cure a couple of probs all at once.. i might see if the scrappy will throw in a couple of speres as well and hope i can improve the ride by trial and error changing of spheres Chris Quote
candpdoyle Posted January 28, 2008 Author Posted January 28, 2008 Well... finally sorted after much to and fro-ing  the pipe from the breaker was not quite right, so popped into gsf, but they were not very helpfull. just on the off chance popped in the main stealer, armed with vin # and the offending part on sat morning.. 17.71 for the new pipe and a seal.... so picked it up this morning and all is well... no more constant ticking from the accumulater and the suspension rises and falls a lot quicker.. the ride is still harsh, but that will have to wait until there is some money availble Thanks for the help and advice colin CheersChris Quote
DaveWalling Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Hi Chris,If your ride is still harsh then you need the 4 corner spheres changing, and as it sounds like you have a GSF near you, I would get them from there. About £20 each. Quote
candpdoyle Posted January 29, 2008 Author Posted January 29, 2008 HI Dave I will sort them when the cash is availble.. not very high on the priorities at the moment.. did and oil change with new oil,air and fuel filters today, also changed the thermostat... and all is now good.. Next on the list is the drop link bar thingy and after that will be the spheres... GSF are about 15 miles from me so no probs to pop around, but i am finding them out of stock quite often, and have to pop around the corner to the main dealer.. they have been very helpful so far... and some of the prices are not too bad..
