gerrysom Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Hi everyone, I have a 05 plate 1.4 Hdi. I noticed there is a gap at the end of the air filter housing, this gap is on the passenger side of the housing facing the battery. My question is simply, is it meant to be there ? I can see the orange air filter through this gap. The gap is directly in front of the large rubber hose that connects to a round blower or vacuum pump on the front of the engine. My main dealer has been a bit less than professional in their past handling of servicing as they seem to tick boxes that have no relevance to a diesel model and forget to change filters to boot. To say that I do not trust them would be an understatement, hence the question as the dealer says it is as it should be. Personally I do not think this is the case and as they are the only ones who ever touched the vehicle they will have to take it back if it is supposed to be closed. thanks in advance. Gerry Quote
petty Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 i almost had this same situation with you. what we did was we changed the air filter and remove the air cleaner. check this stuff to view and access a carburetor or other stuff under the cleaner. Quote
