Thinking of downsizing my C5 and would prefr my next model to have cruise control.

The citroen website seems to have conflicting information regarding this piece of equipment and I'm sure that it's no longer fitted as standard equipment in new models.

Does anyone know this for certain?

Im sure it as I am ordering one next week and I said to the salesman cruise control has been a god send on this C3 I got thats why I want another C3 Exclusive and he said yes it is a good feature.

On the Mark 1 C3 the Cruise Control is operated in the wheel but on the Mark 2 C3 Exclusive its operated on the stalk like the C5/C8 and Xsara Picasso

I've just taken a trip to my local dealership and checked for myself as I am looking to change for a brand new 08 plate model on 1st March.

The new Exclusive models DO NOT COME WITH CRUISE CONTROL. Please, before you place your order, double check with the salesman who gave you this information.

Note also on the Citroen website car comparison guide, cruise control has disappeared from the guide but appears in some of their other literature.

Ive orderd my C3 Exclusive Sensodrive today. The Salesman who I know well hasn't said oh Lee by the way the Exclusive no longer has Cruise Control has he knows thats an important feature to me as I drive with Hand Controls.

Why the would Citroen get rid of it as the C3 Exclusive has had Cruise Control since 2002.

Hi Lee,

All I can quote is what I've seen and heard first hand at the dealership where I've had my 4th Citroen now.

Please post and let us know after you've picked up your C3 - if it comes with cruise control then I'll order one myself as originally intended.

The reason for removing (so I'm told this morning after a phone call to the dealer again to confirm this is) that the C3 range is to be re-branded shortly, rather like the C1 range: Rhythm, Vibe, etc instead of L, SX, etc. I agree that it seems a backward step.

Well Citroen have already started re branding the C3 Range but the looks of it. The Dealer rang me today and said Citroen no longer dose the C3 Exclusive Sensodrive. So I am now having a C3 1.6i 16v SX Automatic. The dealer said the SX Auto is just as good.

Would have liked the Sensodrive as I said I wouldn't really go back to fully Automatic after owning this C3 but there you are these things can't be helped and I can't afford the Motability Deposit for the 1.4i 16v Stop And Start.

They won't do much to the present model other than tweaks to keep sales going.

There's to be a new C3 launched later this year on the continent, coming to the UK early next year. The C2 will be dropped from the range in favour of a 3-door C3 along with 5-door and revised Pluriel.

Well I rang the Dealer today as I wanted to see what this C3 SX Auto was like and guess what Citroen no longer dose that either. They will be doing a Citroen C3 1.6i 16v Exclusive Automatic but they won't know how much the Motability deposit will be untill 1st Feb. If its going to be over £100 I am going to have to have a C2 VTR. I do really need the 2 back doors but if it comes it ill have the C2 VTR as I am not bothered not having Air Con I never use it on this car.

So will have to wait and see now.

If only Citroen managed to inform the dealers and in turn, the sales staff.

You could hand over good money on a car presuming it has essential features for you, only to receive it to a different specification.

I'm now having a C4 1.6HDi - cruise control standard throughout the range. They did me a deal I was happy with - always deal at the end of the month!

I totally agree with you on that one.

So your having a C4 1.6HDi. What Model SX/VTR+? I would have liked a C4 1.6HDi VTR+ EGS but Motability wants over a £1000 Deposit which I haven't got and to be honest I don't do the mileage. Ive only done nearly 21,000 miles in nearly 3 years.

Over these past 2 years Citroen has seemed to cut back on the Sensodrive models. Like on The C3 they got rid of the 1.4HDi Sensodrive then on The C2 they got rid of the 1.4i Furio and SX Sensodrive.

I won't know now untill tomorrow what the new spec will the on The C3 Exclusive. Thats all the Dealer know Citroen has said the Automatic C3 is the C3 1.6i 16v SX Exclusive weird I know but that what ive been told.

I can see me having a C2 VTR now the way its going.

Frustrating eh?

I'll be having the 1.6HDi 'Cool' model, with digital dual zone air con, auto lights and wipers and alloys, as my C5 exclusive has all of these - and I like my toys.

The dual zone I find invaluable as I like to be around 18° whereas my partner like to be >23°.

I'll let you know how it goes - meanwhile keep us informed of your choice.

Yeah mate is starting to get me down now as I just want to know what car im going to have like.

Good package the C4 Cool. Im like you I like my toys which I will miss if I have have the C2 VTR.

I like those Duel Zone Air Con, Wish my C3 had that as I like the cold like well I am in shorts all year round so I never have the heating on in the car but some of my passengers feel the cold but im driver so its tuff im afraid.lol

I don't think your missing much by not having the C4 VTR+. I think the difference is the front bumper different style alloys and you don't get the Auto Dipping Mirror but I know on the Mark 1 C5 that was only avalible on I think Exclusive SE maybe the Exclusive aswell not 100% sure.

I sat in a C4 Cool in the showroom a few weeks ago and I liked it. I wish Citroen just got rid of the C4 1.6i 16v Auto SX and do a cool version instead.

I was looking on Ebay France the other day their specs are different to the UK C3. The C3 Exclusive over there you got a choice of the dark or light interior even a lighter dashboard. Electric Rear Windows and a choice of Alloys (Lynx which are fitted to the UK C3 Exclusive) And Cheetah Alloys (Fitted to UK C3 SX Auto and VTR) And The C3 Exclusive is avalible in Sahara Gold.

Also even some of the 1.1i C3s over there has Digital Air Con and Auto Lights and Wipers.

What BHP did you go for in your 1.6HDi 92BHP or 110BHP? My friend is missing his C3 1.4HDi Desire.

I was told there is not much difference between the 92BHP and the 110BHP anyway.

Oh by the way don't know if you know this but you will be one of the last ones to have A C4 Cool its been replaced with the C4 Cachet but it dosen't have the goodies like the cool the only thing it gets as standared over the other Cool it has a Panaramic Sunroof and 17 inch alloys and a MP3 Capatible CD Player. The Cool might have that CD Player but not the SX.

Citroen seem to be making some big changes. They are now doing a C3 1.4i 16v Exclusive.

The C5 is no longer avalible in Design Trim only VTR, VTX+ and Exclusive.

Ive looked up the C3 1.6i 16v Exclusive Auto no mention of Cruise Control. Still waiting for the Garage to ring me about how much the deposit is going to be. I can see me ringing them Monday now.

The C3 1.6HDi 92BHP Exclusive is now £12,495 was over £13,000 for a long time but is there a catch like no Cruise Control or something.

Let me know how your C4 is and if you get chance email me some pics at leebengough@aol.com
