xantia1995 Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 hi all yes me and my freind sam whos xantia it is managed to do the clutch change on the 1.9td xantia(and let me tell you what an experience) no its not that bad at all is is just a mater of takeing a lot of components of to get to the box weve done it nice and steady in two days outside in the drive in about 14 hours plus oil/filter/diesel filter/gear oil/lhm change and also both drop link arms the only problem we had was to figure out the pull type fork system once we got it sorted every thing just went in beutiful its been a good enjoyeble learning curve and just to say to others in this situation if youve changed lots of clutches before (like we have)dont be put of if youve got the time and patience go for it will save you loads of £££££££££ Quote

Though I did mine on my own !! And yes aligning the pull type lever with the back of the release bearing was a pig ! I fitted longer pins to the bell housing so that I could slide the gearbox back and forth until I got it right ( with the aid of a torch shining through some of the holes in the bell housing ) .
