C8 Possible Fap Problem ?

Can anyone please shed any light on the problem I am experiencing with my '54' plate C8 Exclusive 2.0 HDI. The problem is very intermittent and only happens at 40-50 mph, basically the engine/gearbox develops a judder/hesitation then surges and lurches forwards slightly. If I am stationary but still in gear (D or R) the rev counter surges and drops etc. The problem will be present for anything up to half an hour then disappear, this is what leads me to believe it is related to the FAP system in some way. It doesn't happen every time I drive the car but it usually decides to do it when I have customers in the car ( I use it for Private Hire), which is very embarrassing as they think it is my driving !!!!.

The car has been back to the citroen dealer on numerous occasions where they have changed one of the FAP sensors, the particle filter (and overhauled the FAP system) and also changed some valves and hydraulic block within the gearbox to rule that out. No warning lights or messages are displayed although a fault is left in the memory when citroen run the diagnostics.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this in their C8 and can possibly suggest any cause or solution.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hello, I've recently bought a '54' plate C8 2.0 Diesel - I too have the same problem, the car seems to 'misfire', causing a loss of power, frustration to the driver (me!) but will then disappear for a few days only to re-appear for no reason. I bought it from a dealer who has offered 6mths national warranty, I guess I should take it to a Citroen dealer?

Any advice..........
