Help

I have a Citroen Xsara 1600 Desire (2003). Until now a very reliable car.......till last week when the rear passenger refused to open. My local dealer wont return my calls and I have the fear they are waiting till Im desperate so that they can fleece me for a £10 job.

The rear door wont budge regardless of combinations of central locking positions, from either the external or internal latches. Ive tried resetting the system by disconnecting the battery (apparently works on C6's) with no success.

I have got the inner door panel off and I can see the push rod responding to the keyfob commands.

There is a small wiring loom going to the lock. I cant identify this, it may be a dead bolt or a door open/shut sensor.

Can any one help before the dealer offer to angle grind the door off.......

Best regard,

PP

it usually means the pull handle on the outside has snapped 1 of its operating pegs - as you've got the door panel off you should be able to undo the door by flicking the door rod by hand. The handle is either riveted in place or bolted depending on the day of the week the car was built!
