does anyone have a diagram of the removal and replacement of the hydraulic suspension pump for a 94 xantia 1.9,it is a two pipe version.

i have managed to get one from a scrapper but i think it is a three piper there seems to be another inlet but i dont know wethwe it is just some kind of nut missing.

also can anyone suggest an easy way to get to the hex key at the back of the pump,with the suspension down i dont think i can get a jack under.

Hi oldlager,

To get to the hex bolt you need to remove the front wheel, then remove the shield under the wing. The pulley on the pump has holes in it to facilitate removal, as far as I am aware the only other bolt is acessible from within the engine bay. I have just got one the other week for mine and was lucky enough to be able to undo the nut on the back and then push it out with a screwdriver. Mine was a 3 piper, two metal pipes and a hose. If you look at my post "Citroen Service" you can find detailed diagrams for the whole system, you will need to register to use it, and some services require payment, however the diagrams are in the free section.

thanks dave i have followed your instructions for dismantling pump,i have also registered at citroen

service web site but i think there having problems with the sight,after registering i cannot access

the site will try again tomorrow.

anyway after taking the pump of i discover the pump i got from the scrapper is the wrong one it

is a three pipe instead of two even though he insisted it was the right one,will be phoning tomorrow.

so i am only a little bit further on can anyone tell me why you can't repair the pump because it looks to me that the gasket is missing on mine or was there never one fitted from new,which

seems strange!!the pump itself looks to be in good condition the rubber seal looks to be okay

and except for no gasket i can't see any fault so unless there is some dire reason why i will try some liquid gasket and see what happens.

let you know what happens.

Hi old lager,

It does seem strange that there is no gasket, definitely worth trying the liquid gasket, what have you got to lose!! Apart from a bit of time dismantling and reassembling the pump, etc. Will keep a lookout for your reply.

Dave
