Evening all.....

Newbie here and sorry to make my first post a request for help but.....

I've just bought a 1995 ZX 1.9d for pennies primarily for spares for a Peugeot 306 that my lad drives but after driving it about 20 miles home it seems to good too scrap as there is plenty of T&T left on it.

That's the good news ...... now for the bad..... it's got a water leak and it looks like it's from the water pump. Quick look at the HBOL for the 306 which looks to be the same engine and I've got the alternator belt and crank pulley off and locked the flywheel, crank and camshaft sprockets and all seemed to be going ok.

So what next..... I can see that the engine mount needs to come off to get the old belt off but then the HBOL talks about a pivot bolt/adjuster bolt on the tensioner and that's where I'm getting stuck. I can see what I think is the pivot bolt which is at the bottom left corner of the tensioner but where the hell is the adjuster ?

Any help would be gratefully received especially pics ... we like pics....and if you're local or in North Wales for your jollies there's a pint or two in it for you !

You may have guessed from the user name that I'm more used to working on big lumps of metal I can fix with a hammer.

Hi Landyman,

I have only just seen your post. Have you now managed to sort it all out, or could you still do with a hand?

I have just removed my engine and can get you some good pictures if you wish of the timing belt area/ water pump area.

Let me know.

Might be best to contact me on nickuden@hotmail.com for a quicker response.

Regards Nick.
