Hi all,

I just bought a 2001 C5 HDI ( 90 BHP I believe ) a few days ago. Drove it home about 180 miles no problem, no

error or problem lights on the display.

Next day getting yellow engine diagnostic light ( line drawing of an engine bloc in yellow ). Stays on , and continues on this morning. Car running very well - can not detect anything wrong EXCEPT when accelerating sometimes getting a HIGH SPEED message scrolling across the centre display - preceded by a BEEP.

I hope the engine light is nothing more than a faulty sensor somewhere --- judging by the outside air temp of 81 degrees C, I suspect the sensors/electronics may be a weakness in these cars.

I plan to get it serviced anyway early next week , but would like to hear opinions on the cause of the engine light coming on ( considering it drove for 180 miles the day before perfectly )

Thanks

The high speed warning on the trip can be sitched off or reprogammed.Use the button on the end of the wiper stalk to get to "overspeed"then give the button a long press to switch it off.Mine was set at 65mph and bugged me like like hell! The temp sender is in the right hand side mirror, plenty of info on this site to correct it.
