hello all ,

just got my nice xsara td1.9 LX (08) today but found the incar cdplayer non working, non plugged in

its an after market cd player that has several wires including red/white aux sockets and a black cable

and red cable that is attached to a fuse.

within the stereo bay there are a set of 2 sockets white and black, each with 8 pins, tho the black socket has 7 pins ,also there is an ariel.

i have so far looked up that the cd player red cable is the power but also the yellow cable can

be used for an always powered function, the back cable is the earth and i would need to earth this

somewhere but i dont know where.the rest of the cables from the cd player are for speakers.

i also have try'd to find out what colours on the sockets i should connect up for power

and earth but cant find any info,i have try'd also some variations and also tested earth to

the cd metal bracket but unsure if this is suitable and i know that the player needs to be earthed

before i get anything to work.

so far i cant get anything out of the cd player and im unsure if i should even bother

as it might be difficult to also connect it up to the functions on the steering wheel

also i have read that converters are needed and that it might be a fuse.

im really new to cars but quite good with electrical equipment and hope to get this working so i can

mabe get my ipod working from the aux jacks at the back of the player but just getting the power

on would be great, any help at all would be greatly welcome.

thanks and regards
