Guest Paul's Pluriel Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Hi, I noticed a few posts have been asking questions about a roof you can use when the roof bars are off your Pluriel. I have the German made "Get Me Home" Roof which when fitted makes the car look like a customised VW Beetle. I got it a couple of years back and did a trial fit at the time with no problems, but in truth although I carry it in the boot when the roof is off and I have never had to put it to the test. The manufacturer's suggest that you shouldn't drive above 50mph when the roof is fitted. It is also a bit of a faff to fit and you do lose the use of the rear view mirror as it is solid black all over. As the roof rests on the raised windows it lowers the roof line significantly and actually rests on the rear head restaints making the rear seats unuseable. If anyone wants more information I can dig out the web contact - the do offer delivery to the UK. If anyone is interested I guess I could also fit the roof to my car and post a picture of it so that you can see what it looks like. Paul Quote
Guest Paul's Pluriel Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Further to my posting earlier I found the German supplier of the roof on the net, they are called sf-raum - hit the link to learn more German Roof Supplier. The webpage includes pictures of the roof fitted - it won't win any prizes for its looks! Quote
Guest chrisnn Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Hi Paul- this emergency roof looks very much like Citroens own rain cover, except only for the support by the windows. The current price of 259 Euros seems a tad expensive for what it is though. Still, at least someone has had a go! Quote

It is a heavier gauge than the tonneau cover that Citroen sell - I use that a lot in the summer as I sometimes leave the roof off the car for days at a time and leave the car parked on my drive overnight. Truth is I have had the "Get me home" roof for nearly 3 years and only fitted it once - and that was just to check it fitted. I haven't even driven the car with it on to see how well the seal at the top of the windscreen works. It is often in the boot when the roof is off - ready to fit if required, but it has never rained whilst the roof bars are off! Paul Quote
