Guest Fusebox Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I wonder if anybody can help ? I have bought a rather nice cd/radio to replace the existing radio(now knackered) in my Xantia. I also got the correct fascia finisher part aswell. I can,t make out how the new radio fits in along with the fascia. I removed the dashboard surround then got the old radio out, then removed the existing plastic cage holding the old set. Do you need to retain the old radio holder or use the new cage that comes with the new radio ? I,ve changed loads of radios in my time but this is a real awkward job - especially with no instructions to guide you!Can anybody put me on the right track here as to how to install the new one - i,m a bit lost  Would be grateful for any guidance. Cheers all.. Quote

Guest Colin Hunter Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Please anybody got any advice/guidance on this job?? Well. Basically, take out the old radio. It will have been specifically made to fit the Xantia fascia so you need an adapter kit to enable the fitment of the new "standard" set. This is available from Citroen and Halfords I beleive. It fits the hole in the dash and should give you a pull down flap to cover your new pride and joy from tea leaves etc. The new radio fits into the adapter kit. You may also need an interface kit to connect the standard fittings to the citroen plugs. These are available from citroen and good independant suppliers, Halfords etc. There are also interface kits available, depending on your make of radio, to enable the steering wheel controls on the xantia, A nice finishing touch I think! Cheers. Hope this helps. Colin  Quote
