reggiep Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 My wife has a C3 sx and I have have just bought a 52 plate exclusive. Can someone tell me why the bit above my rearview mirror is different to hers? It has a box(?) with a wire running up into the roof! Also whiler I'm asking can anyone tell me what else if different between the sx and the exclusive? thanks Quote
smokescreen Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Hi Reggiep, The box thing behind the rear view mirror is the rain sensor for the automatic wipers. I can't answer fully your question about the difference between the Sx and the Exclusive as my brochure is for 2004-2005. In these years the Exclusive had all what the Sx had plus more!! reggiep Posted February 23, 2008 Author Posted February 23, 2008 Thanks for that, I'll have to wait until it rains to see if they work then! reg Quote

reggiep Posted February 24, 2008 Author Posted February 24, 2008 I have a brochure from the launch year, 2002. It states- Refrigerated glove box What the heck would anyone want a refrigerated glove box for? A secret stash of mars bars and milk?? thanks Reg Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 When the C3 was first launched in 2002 apart from the Exclusive The Auto Wipers and Lights and Digital Air con was only available on the C3 1.4i SX Automatic. Quote
raveydavey Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 The chilled glovebox is great. And despite what the brochures say, every model with A/C has one (I think...) On a hot day it means you can keep a few cans or small bottles of pop / water, whatever in the lower glovebox and they remain lovely and cold providing you have the A/C on, obviously. They also stay cool for ages, so if you return to a hot car you can have a cool drink waiting for you. To check if you've got this wonderful feature, feel on the "roof" of the lower glovebox - there should be a circular disk. Just turn this until you feel the air coming out. On the subject of "auto" rain sensing wipers, don't you actually have to turn them on first? I know you do on Peugeots... Quote

My missus uses hers to keep her bottled water cool on long journeys. Nowt worse than quenching yer thirst with warm water! Quote
Guest CE05LDB Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 On the subject of "auto" rain sensing wipers, don't you actually have to turn them on first? I know you do on Peugeots... Yes on the Mark 1 C3 you move the stalk to position 0. On Mark 2 C3 you push the stalk down and a message will apear on the screen Auto Wipers Active. Another press then a message will apear and Say Auto Wipers inactive. I should imagin its the same system on the Peugeots. Quote
stimulator Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 The C3 Mk2 Sx 1.6 has auto climate BUT the gloove box outlet has been deleted. The Auto headlights now have an OFF position on the light stalk so you can override them without having to go to the manual to deactivate. the wipers now have intermittent aswell as auto. As has been said to acivate to have to pull the lever down to the single wipe position and tghey will activate. However to deactivate them you have to go to another position and then to OFF. Some of this is a bit fiddley compared to the older models The windscreen ticket clip has been deleted The passenger seat height adjuster has been deleted. The radio now controls the settings on the pod display. There is an oddment tray under both front seats. The sound system is much better, there is now a sort of graphics equaliser where you cans elect voice, rock/pop, classic enhancemnet. The auto volume operates much better too. I ahve both a Mk1 54 reg 1.4 90 BHP HDI 16V SX and a MK2 O7 reg 1.6 92 BHP HDI 16V SX. the Mk2 is qieter at all speeds and far more sporty. Quote
