(as im sure you would expect!) i removed the rocker cover today only to find my camshaft in 2 bits and a mounting for it broken aswell! basicly i wana know is it a write off? or is it worth the hassel of a new cam and possiably a few valves? or a new head alltogether and just bolt off and bolt on the new one valves and all??? or should i break the car for parts?? - if so is there any intrest here? its not exactly sort after i wouldnt have thought? or anyone intrested in the car as a whole?? ANY HELP OR RECOMENDATIONS GREATFULLY RECIVED!!! the car is a citroen zx 1.9D auto advantage estate with 63,000 miles on the clock. many thanks all the best everyone and happy posting. phil. Quote
Guest Colin Hunter Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Hi There. Sorry to hear about your disaster. Best thing is to take off the head for a look, and if there's not too much damage to the pistons and the block is OK you could just replace the head. You should be able to get one from a breaker quite cheaply. Do a search in google for "parts gateway" or "pugcit" spares and you should turn something up. These places invite you to specify the part you need and then forward the details to participating breakers, who then contact you if they have what you require. May even be worthwhile changing the entire engine as the car is quite low milage. Engines can be sourced for about £200 or so. Cheers. Hope this helps. Quote
