Citroen c5, a great car,i have been driving for nearly 30 years, and cannot agree more with most of the positive postings on this site.

BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Be Warned.

I purchased my citroen as a second car back in September 07 with 70k on the clock.

All reciepts, came with the car, service history etc.

The bloke said to me that the particulate filter had been changed, this at the time meant nothing to me, i thought perhaps it was like changing an air filter, as you do with fords, vauxhalls and merc, had them all.

Things started to go wrong on News years eve, the computer said,ANTI POLLUTION, took it to the citroen main dealer, i have to as there is no local garage around here with citroen knowledge.

Map sensor needs relacing £194.00

Drove the car out and two weeks later ANTI POLLUTION came up again, Anew relay, some filter cleaned, wiring checked, total bill £300.00.

Great drove the car away. 8 days later and 125 miles. UNBLOCK DIESEL FILTER.

Took the car back to the main dealer, they rang me the next day. you need a particulate filter !!

Didnt sound that bad until he said it would be around £500.00 plus this and that.

Now you must agree i'm doing my bit for the C5, i agreed to have the work done, the car when running is fantastic, so comfortable.

Please be warned . dont be afraid to purchase one, just make sure things like the cambelt and particulate filter have been done before you purchase one.

I look through the reciepts he gave me, and it does show that the cambelt was done at 69k and recommends that the particulate filter be changed, theres my mistake it was only a recommendation, so if your going to buy a C5 with 71K on the clock both these jobs needed to be done.

I'm on first name terms with the citroen dealer after 3 visits in such a short time.

By the way the main dealer is Bollingmores of Sunbury, who have been very good , i must add that as i have vented my frustration at them, not verbally, just some strange face pulling.

Let me know your experiences, happy motoring. :lol:P.S. Good old Bollingmores of Sunbury, did the whole job ans other little bits like the eloys fluid top up for £431.00, not as bad as i had expected, pleased she is back to normal. Did a 450 mile round trip to Bolton on Thursday night , no problem. As for Auto diesel, i got 600 miles from a tank of diesel, that was cruising around the 85 mark too..........
