asfy85 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 HI all, hopefully someone can help me. I have just bought a 2005 C2 VTR. It was lightly panel damaged at the front end. As soon as i unlock the car, you can see the battery light flashing inside the car. Once in the car, it will not start and 'eco-mod' comes up on the centre display. Some of the auxileries eg fan, radio, wipers etc will not work, whilst the lights and indicators do work. I have phoned citroen and they have said its a flat battery, but i just bought a new one, and the problem remains. Any help anyone can give me would be most appreciated. Many Thanks,Andy Quote
shirleyharris79 Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 asfy85, I've simular probs with my vtr. a change of battery sorted it in my case, it turned out that the alpine stereo i fitted was taking a constant feed from the batt. for some reason the vtr needs a massive charge to kick the engine and if the battery is anything less 100% juiced up then it wont start. Also, if you have the sensodrive gearbox you may need to re-set it by pressing the brake pedal for 30/40seconds while the key is turned to the II position, then start it. I got it sorted in the end, it was an ignition module was damaged in the accident and i only found it once i started to strip it down. I bought another one (£30 Citroen) and everything was fine. Thanks for your reply. I have just had another thing go wrong on it though. It was running fine today, i put it into first gear and it didnt pull away as normal. I tried to get it back into neutral, but it stayed in 1. In the end i took the battery off and tried to do the reset thing you suggested. Now it comes up with the - symbol, but the car is locked in gear. I cannot now restart the car as it is in gear, and i cannot get it towed as i cannot get it into neutral. Many Thanks once again.Andy Quote
c2004 Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 I have had exactly the same problem? I have tried resetting too. Sometimes the snowflake flashes too but not all the time. I have rang citroen they have said try charging the battery on a trickle charge. As the battery has to be fully charged for it to reset. But i cant seem to get the car out of eco-mode. I have managed to get the N up but it doesn't stick. Please can someone help!!? Quote
c2004 Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 It is now with citroen, it took them 3 days to find out it was a faulty gearbox ECU. It is being replaced under warranty. So can't complain really! Quote
