rovertp Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 My C3 has developed an intermittent squeal from the front wheels, but when you touch the brake pedal slightly the noise stops, the car has done 29000 miles. I think the brake pads require changing. The question is, can this be done by a competent Do it yourself er, and are any special tools needed? Or is this a job only a garage can do. Thanks Quote
hertsnminds Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 If you go to this site http://www.c3pluriel.org.uk/ and click on the Questions section there is a short explaination about break squeal. If the brake wear warning light is not on (it's the same one as the handbrake on light) then you probably still have some pads left. Brake pads/discs can be changed by any garage, most of the exhuast places offer this service, anyone who feels they are mechanically competent should also be able to do the job.
