Guest Peter Mann Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I´m stuck. To release the head from the grasp of the exhaust system, I´ve tried to remove the nuts that compress the springs where the exhaust pipe and manifold meet (under the heatshields). No satisfaction. The whole bolt turns, even with a 10mm AF spanner held on the head of the less-inaccessible bolt on the passenger side. 9mm AF spanner won´t fit on the head of the bolt, and the 10mm slips a notch when the torque builds up. Does anybody know the Secret Handshake for taking the head of this thing. I´ve measured massive loss of compression on cylinders 2 & 3, so no option but to proceed. Quote
Guest Colin Hunter Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Cut them off and renew them when replacing the head. Sounds like they're Bu**ered anyway! Cheers. Happy butchery! Quote
