Hi all,

done a search on this one but can't seem to find a solution anywhere?

When i slip the rear wiper switch round to its first position (supposed to just turn wiper on) the wiper doesn't work but fluid starts coning out of the washer on the rear window - same happens when i switch it to the next setting (wash/wipe setting). I have never been particularily good with electrics, has any one else had this happen to them, and what did they do to solve it (MOT due soon, not sure if the rear wiper is a failure or not)

Its a 2.0 HDI Forte, if that makes any difference.

It would seem that the switch has failed allowing the wrong contacts to be made inside it. I believe this is quite common on ZXs but it's never happened to me. A replacement switch might be the answer, you'll probably be able to pick one up from a breakers quite cheaply.

May be wrong here. Anyone else have any ideas?

Cheers

thanks for the advice Colin...what your saying makes sense i wasn't sure if it might be the wiper motor, but i guess that wouldn't make the fluid come out would it...as i said electrics ain't my thing, give me a spanner any day:o)
