madassmax Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Hi, have a mate who lives some way away from me who has just replaced the wheels on his Saxo and now has 4 wheels with nearly new tyres taking up space in his garage. Question is does anyone know if these 4 stud steel wheels will fit okay on my xantia? they look like they should but i'd like to make sure they are going to be a safe fit before i travel 'darn sarf' to get them... Guest Colin Hunter Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 They'll probably fit on the studs OK but it doesn't stop there. Early Xantias had 14" wheels and later ones 15", usually with 185/65x15 or 205/60x15 depending on model. My '92 1.9d Xantia had 186/65x14 tyres and many others of that era also had 14" wheels. Are the Saxo Wheels you are considering 14" or 15" rims. I suspect 14"! The next question revolves around the "offset" of the rims. Later Xantias have 6Jx15" wheels. The Offset can be measured (and compared) by measuring the distance from the rim to the mounting flange from the back of the wheel (inside) and from the front (outside) and comparing the measurements with the "new" wheels. They should be within a few mm to ensure that the tyres fitted do not foul bodywork or chassis members. Also alloy wheels generally require different bolts to steel wheels, flat heads rather than tapered. Cheers. Hope this helps  Quote
