officer305 Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Hello, I am new to this forum. I bought a 2002 Citroen Xsara 2 litre ( 110 bhp ) HDi LX a few months ago. It has been standing in the driveway for that length of time without being started ( Been away ) When I tried to open it with the remote control the central locking wouldn't work. I opened it with the key OK. I put the key in the ignition and found the battery totally flat. I have put a new battery on it. The remote control still doesn't open the doors and the car won't start. The engine turns over but but refuses to start. I was told to listen for a motor sound in the fuel tank under the rear seat when I switched the ignition on. There is no noise. All the lights in the dash come on when I put the key in. I noticed a small picture of a key in the dash. I think it used to go out after I put the key in but it isn't now. In the centre dash it is displaying ECO Mode. I have tried to syncronise the key by putting it in the ignition and holding the lock button for 10 seconds releasing the button swithcing of the ignition and waiting 3 seconds. That didn't make any difference. Any help or suggestions would be greatfully accepted as I need it for work next week. Officer 305. Quote

Officer 305.Same problem with mine exept mine was due to the battery in the key fob going flat.Check that first otherwise Citroen will re synchronise the key & car for around £45.00. Hope it helps pierrej Quote
