Zx Gearbox?

Hi

 

I need a new gearbox in my recently purchased ZX Avantage 1.9TD. Cad anyone advise which other grarbox's will fit appart from one out of another ZX? Would a gearbox from any Peugeot or Citroen 1.9 Diesel or TD Fit?

 

Any advice much appreciated!

Hi Marcus, yeah the engine from the citroen (XUD) zx 1.9TD is the same as the xantia 1.9TD, Xara, Pug 306 and 406 these will all be the same. The engine was also used in the older Suzuki Vitara diesel so that gearbox might be the same too!

Hi There guys.

 

The gearboxes from any PSA car with the XUD engine will probably be similar in as much as the casing/bellhousing may be the same. The gear ratios may be different between models and the final drive ratio will be different for the Atmo and Turbo engines. The Turbo is higher. Any discrepancy in that area will throw the speedo reading out.

 

One thing I will gaurantee is that the gearbox from the Suzuki wil NOT fit your ZX seeing as the Vitara had a North/South engine and four wheel drive! Might make an interesting project though!

 

Best people to ask are breakers. They generally know what fits what. Found this one on Ebay for £75 starting bid or £100 buy it now.
