Hi everybody, I'm new here.

That's probably because the C3 is new - picked up on the 18th, about 850 miles so far.

It's her car honest. (Puma's rule OK) and in the final head to head my vote was for the 130 bhp Seat Ibiza. The Fiesta lost out on, well.. boringness, so the C3 it was/is.

1.4 16v TDCi SX.

The colour thing has thrown up an interesting sidelight (intentional pun)

She was very much heading towards the black, or the darker blue, but swerved at the last minute into Wicked Red.

Only after we'd got ot home, where it is parked with its boot towards the house and I was idly staring out the window did I realise that the rear light clusters disappear into the rest of the rear view since they are a very similar red overall. Makes the back look very coordinated. Don't know if anybody else thinks that's important? Take a look at one next time you see a red and let me know.

The dealers (Flemings - Kings Lynn) supplied me with a moduboard without quibble (but with 50 quid :( ). I also had the Exclusive alloys added as I think they enhance the look of the car no end. Another 500 quid, and you only get four

So far so good. The only thing that seems not to be functioning is the speed limit nagger, can't say that's too much of an issue, but it should work really. I believe the air conditioned glove box is back now too.

Cheers

Your speed limit nagger doesn't work? Do you know you have to first of all turn it on, then when you are at your ideal speed, press and hold the button till you hear a "gong" noise. Then is should work. And untill you get used to the digital dash it can be hard staying at your chosen speed long enough to set the thing. I kept going over then under. Getting the hang of it now though.

Sssshh, you have spent too much time looking at the blue oval; we call it HDI.

Good choice, welcome to the fellowship.

Ah!

Quite right, HDI it is. Frankly after a couple of months concentrated car assessment the whole marketplace is a jumble of letters. Anyway I blame Citroen for not putting a 'model' identifier on the car.

I really can't understand why Ford only fit the 8 valver to the Fiesta.

Observations from our 1100 miles to date seem to show that the 16V engine is a belter. Consumption still the just the wrong side of 60 mpg, but presumably that will improve with age?

I am deeply glad I didn't find this forum before I bought the car. Poor ol' Mooseshaver's experiences would probably have put me off, and I reckon that might have been a big mistake.

How?

I know this post really deserves the answer 'RTFM', but take pity on me, I've got manual fatigue.

Its the little button below the child locks. Has a speedometer kinda picture.
press it once to turn it on and it should light up. If the light is already on then it is already turned on. Now, with it on drive long to your maximum speed you wish to go, eg 60mph. No keep it at exactly 60mph and press and hold the button untill you hear another noise that a bit like a gong. Its not as impressive as the one at the start of the Rank films, but it is different from the usual beeps. Now that should set you speed nagger at the speed you were going when in gonged. Now if you go over the speed you set, it will beep 3 times, and then it will stay silent untill you drop back down to you max speed or less, and you have to go over it again before it beeps. It won't beep constantly.

:) Ah, that worked!

Problem now is that it's just gone past its 1500 th mile and we've nothing to moan at the dealer about.

Seems like letting them off a bit lightly.

Thanks

Sorry, been away from the site for a bit.

Nope, no rattles from the gearbox.

Over 3,000 miles now, still nothing to complain about when the delayed first service happens at the end of this week.

Sorry, I tell a lie. I think the rear brakes might be binding a tad.
