HI ALL, I HAVE OWNED 3 XANTIAS, AND THE NEW ONE IS A 2.0 HDI 2000 REG.

THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT THERE IS A BUMPING / BANGING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT SUSPENSION.WHEN I GO OVER UNEVEN ROADS .I HAVE CHANGED THE FRONT 2 SUSPENSION LINK SRUTS,, BUT THE NOISE IS STILL THERE WHEN DRIVING.. I DID TAKE ONE OFF AND THE NOISE STOPPED SO I REPLACED THAT ONE AGAIN THINKING IT WAS THAT, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL WAS THERE AFTER REPLACING IT. SO I AM THINKING COULD IT BE A WISHBONE BUSH. OR MORE PROBABLY IS THE ANTI ROLL BAR BUSHES . ANY IDEAS

Hi Jason.

Yes, from what you say it seems likely that the Anti Roll Bar bushes are the culprits. I've never had to do them myself on a Xantia, but on other cars I've had they're usually split, and replacing them is just a matter of un bolting the mounts, removing and replacing the old bush and bolting up again. Shouldn't take more than 1/2 an hour or so once you've got access below the car.

Be sure to support the car properly if you're using jacks to lift it. A pit or ramps would be the best bet.

Cheers. Hope this helps.

It may be the anti-roll bar bushes. Or maybe you had accidentally moved something when installing the struts, twice, causing the noise.

hi there. havin worked on citroens for a long time i can honestly say the only time i had problems with theanti roll bushes is for squeeking. lower arm bushes are common as to are ball joints again on the lower arm. save yourself money. jack the car up inspect the bushes at the rear of the arm look for splitting. check te wheel for play
