Why are you starting new threads with your tale of woe, why do you hijack other threads with your tale of woe. There aren't many on this forum, I think we all get the picture.

Your not happy with your motor. WE KNOW.

You have aptly named yourself.

Now go and sue the dealer, dump the car ...... whatever

I'm afraid that you ain't got a case! It would appear that your dealer are doing all they can to fix your car - also you are in the minority of people who are disappointed with their car.

It is annoying that you've had so many problems, but such is life. Don't waste your time and money trying for a court case - you will undoubtably loose.

Hope that cheers ya up! :D

I am sorry to say but I tend to agree with the other members here, that you have left it too late to demand a replacement, usually you have up to a year.

Going by your tale of woe, it seems the dealer has tried ther best.

I know the C1 is not perfect, which car is?

I have had rain leakage trouble with the door seal dripping in the C1, been in twice for repair, but I still get drips when it is torrential rain. This is due to an inherant fault of lack of compression of the door seals and that there is only one seal at the door, so I sorted it by smearing silicon grease on the seals, and no longer get any drips. I can live with this DIY solution.

Some people get this drip problem in their car, others dont.

So, If you cannot suffer the car any longer, maybe its time to cut your losses, sell the C1 now, and hope you get a better car.

But there again, why not keep the devil you know (the C1 you have)... Going by modern day cars there is far more tendency to produce inherant faults due to factory built cost savings on materials and design (like our door seals). So the chances are you may end up with something that has more time consuming and costly faults, than a city bug :D

Good luck with this, having had similar with a Rover dealer 10 years back, CD Bramall. Defective handbrake that failed on a hill, failed head gasket, etc.

Have you tried "Watchdog" (their hatchet job on the Renault with the 'self releasing bonnet' stopped me from buying one) or the local papers to publicise this and embarrass them into acting ?

I agree with C1Millstone. These cars are not perfect and it is good to discuss the other side of the coin. If I had to stick silcon on a brand new car to stop the leaks I wouldn't be happy at all with it. Wake up and complain.........

I personally love my C1 as nothing will be cheaper to run. After seeing a 4X4 at the gas station recently puting in £80 I just couldn't live with a car like that now after having the C1. I've had very few problems with it and the Toyota build quality of the engine is shinning through.

Down sides are the cost of a service. I was mis quoted at £120 but they honoured it. £180 for what they do is a rip off. Other downside is some of the cheapness as I don't think these cars will make old age. The engine isn't very refined when you compare it to my partners Corsa 1.2 that is older.

I think a good balanced aregument on here is very productive but these forums are to help people with problems, not gloat about who has the best car.

I only put silicon grease on the seals now, to gaurentee I do not get the carpets wet in torrential wet weather.

Even though the dealer has 'so called' sorted them, I just cannot trust the poor design of the seals, where there is a lack of compression. As I stated above many cars now come with inhearent faults, and this is the city bugs.

It is now a waste of time trying to get it fixed, as it needs a total redesign of the seal to get the compression right.

But overall I am still very happy with the car, as long as it remains dry inside :D

Anyway good luck, on trying to get your money back.

My point Mr Millstone, is that you do not need to start a new forum thread each time you wish to let off steam about your car, you can simply add to one of your (many) existing ones.

Clearly the more people that express their experiences and issues with the car the better for others that visit in the future. Surely it is better to get an true overall picture rather than one that has been skewed by repetitive posts.

No, I do not work for Citroen and I am not little, perhaps in hindsight my earlier reply to you was a little rude, but then as you say life isn't all roses and cream. But for the moment I certainly have no complaints about our little cheap car, crap it ain't.

Good day,

Nig

You can have bad luck with cars especially new ones, just look at the list of faults from the new 207 its nearly 30 pages whereas the 107/C1/Aygo is a mear 4 pages. Unfortunately it seems you have covered all 4 :D

If you are that unhappy with it sell it, whilst I agree with what you say the constant moanings will put people of buying one of the trio, which would be a grave mistake because for me and thousands of others it has been a fantastic car, I would say the best I have owned.

I too have had my clutch replaced at 13k but its not a problem its fixed, it feels better then ever and the car runs as smoothly as it did the day I bought it, I have never had problems with leaks.

My other point is why did you buy the diesel? Toyota build quality has nothing to do with it in this case as the engine is a PSA design and even without driving one I could tell you its going to be a crock of sh*t. Also with such small cars I daresay the extra mpg versus rising costs versus extra cost of the car trade off is hardly worth it, plus the power delivery is reported to be awful.

I think the main problem with your car is it had too much Peugeot/Citroen in it and as we know they cant seem to get anything right at the moment.

But all this in context I wish you the best of luck and would invite you to tell us how you get on, nobody needs this much hardship from something that is simply there to take us from A to B. If you do need any advice have a look on google for the man who crushed his 307 and delivered it to the dealers, its a bit of a laugh too!

You've left it a bit late to get shot, really. If it's been cr4p for as long as you say you should've formally rejected the car ages ago. By soldiering on for so long you'd indicated a degree of acceptance and will have trouble trying to sort any recompense now, especially if the dealer is playing ball and trying to fix bits under the warranty. You're now saddled with trying to get it fixed as best as you can under warranty, and then getting shot ASAP.

Mine (a 107) has had a new clutch at 4,000 miles, but so what? It was fixed under warranty (which is why we buy new cars instead of used ones) and it's been spot on ever since.

I know Citroen can have their faults I know that by the problems my brothers past 3 Citroens have had but there are alot of other cars that has faults too.

I understand alot more about the Dealers now since knowing the staff well at my local Dealer and alot of its down to Citroen UK. The Dealer has got to go through them to autorise to replace parts for Warranty work.

Im Sure KFK can tell you the whole process the Dealer has to go through.

By the sounds of it your dealer has done everything they can and it should be down to Citroen now.

Like The Front Spring snapped on my C3 when it turned 3 years old but it still didn't put me off the car and my Dealer got it repaired within 48 Hours.

As for posting things alot of us like to post good things about our cars as well as bad.

Good luck with your case anyway
