madassmax Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Hi, i'm sure there have been numerous posts on this subject but once i have ascertained whether my pum is a Lucas or Bosch i was thinking of running a mix of veggie oil and diesel (just been to the garage and its currently at 1.19 a litre). just wondered if anybody has used this fuel mix succesfully on this engine/model - found lots of references to older vehicles with the 1.9 engine but very little relating to theids later model and anyone that has used this without problems. applefishbanana Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 if its the hdi be careful they not too happy with unpure fuel. they will run on it if its a weak mix. citroen bcan give you the ratio Quote
iannez Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 citroen states 50/50 mix with every 3rd tank full being regular diesel. had to change a full set of injectors and a hp pump on a berlingo last week due to it being run on bio so would not recomend using it. dont think its worth the hassle for what you save in the long run. false economy imo. Guest Colin Hunter Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 £1.19! Bloody Luxury! Try £1.35! Then start whining! AND WE PRODUCE THE BLOODY STUFF HERE! I'm an engineer. I work with Diesel engines and I wouldn't DREAM of putting veg oil in an HDi. You can if you want. Your (car's) funeral. Ain't worth it mate. New pumps cost £500! Quote
