Just collected new c3 1.4hdi.

I need to fit my nokia car kit which is easy enough but any idea which pin on the radio is the mute feed - as the car doesn't have standard iso plugs

Interesting to read the handbook which states the radio is linked to the ecu -- took a long breath & unplugged wiring to see if CUK were simply using their own adapter into an iso plug. no, but when repowering it all worked without me having to find a non existent code

the set has the cars vin programmed into it so as long as it is removed and refitted into the same car it will never need recode. the mute is unused on the black connector so you will need to shove the nokia mute wire down the empty slot for it to make contact with the pin on the set. the easiest way to find it is to use a test light with an earth wire. earth the end and shove the other end down the empty holes in the multi plug while the radio is connected and turned on. when you push it down the right hole the radio will mute and a speaker with a cross through it will come up on the display. using a test light will prevent you from shorting anything out.

Will do - did the same on my xsara hdi - but had the radio socket wiring diagram & a std iso so that was easy - weird so see on a year 2000 car the word 'phone' on the display when receiving calls & the radio muted! Kids thought that was cool! (they're older now & maybe not as easily impressed!
