My father in law has just bought a used C8.

We have followed the owners book on the auto headlamps on and off but they still come on when the engine is running...regardless if active headlamps on or off?!?!?!

So are running lights the norm?

Also the previous owner says the light/rain sensor in the windcreen is iffy. How much to replace one?

Hello and thanks.

If they said its iffy thats your problem then its the sensor thats faulty hence its causing your lights to come on in the day.

You would have to contact you dealer and see how much a new one and fitting would cost unless your C8 is under 3 years old and under 60,000 miles

I was thinking that but when the active headlamps is off then why do the lights still come on? ? ? ?

Just bought '53 reg C8 and has same problem. Dealer techie told me the sensor is faulty. New one £43 ansily fitted but didn't solve the problem. May be the lighting stalk, which is apparently about £300 to fix. So will now run on sidelights! Bit of a pain but cheper. Anyone know of a fix?
