HI there !

Does anyone know whether I can re-furbish my 1998 Xantia key which does not work from the buttons as there does not appear to be any contacts for the buttons on the P.C.B.

Can I fit the existing key blade into another Xantia key & re-programme it as described on several web sites?

Any ideas appreciated.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Is the keyfob is the 2 button sort? If it is, it is possible to remove the PCB from the fob and replace it with a working one.The PCB simply pulls out, and the new one pushes in. Once this is done ll that is left to be done is to reprogram it.

Hope this is of some help to you.

There is a replacement key remote in Australia sold by firm called Jaycar. They are about $A70, easy to fit and better than the original. They can obviously be used on 406 and 306 of the same era, say 1994 to 1999. You would certainly need remote locking in the UK where it is colder and wetter (reduces standing time).

Had a look for the site. Turns out to be mis-spelled in Yankinese!

Info seems sound on the Xantia at any rate.

Hi there

I was a little unsure about this site as on the key for my dads Xantia, it has two buttons, both the same size. :)

It is the 1994 model so i guess they might have change the design of the key over the years?
