Hi, i know this isnt the right place to be asking, but i cant find anywhere else to ask, perhaps somebody can help ?

I have a 2002 relay 2.8 hdi with apporx 85000 miles on the clock which has developed a starting problem from cold. The engine will turn over as normal, but doesnt fire, this only happens from cold mainly (has happened 2 or 3 times when warm only) it can sometimes be upto ten attempts to start the van and regulary has to be jumped from another cars battery. i have had a diagnostic tool connected up which registered no faults.

Help !!!!

Regards Dave

Hi, try to check the gravity of your battery because maybe it turns the engine but it doesn't turn as much to crank and start the engine and as you said that has to be jump start. also maybe the battery has a voltage but no enough amperage or vice versa. also it could be down to glow plug. hope this will help.
