Robingc Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 Hi folks, need some help here! Love the car, encountered very few leaks - only when getting jetwashed has it let in at the joins of the arches (touching lots of wood). Thinking of replacing the stereo though. Not getting a good radio reception, hate changing cd's and just basically hate the stereo, so want it changed - fancy fitting a new one - a few say they're compatible, but i've heard that they aren't (something to do with a negative wire) and if I do would the car need re-programmed, and would it invalidate the warranty? Any suggestions? Robin Orange 53 sensodrive Quote
jazzster Posted June 3, 2005 Posted June 3, 2005 yes you can fit after market stereo, but some have problems with alarm etc. I have fitted 2 C3`s with other stereos. Firstly turn ignition on and make sure old stereo is switched off before turning ignition off again. The remove the old stereo. Make sure your wires match on the new stereo the ignition live and bettery live may be the wrong way round. The connector is standard ISO size but I would advice you not to connect to the cars ignition live, this wire is connectted to the multiplex computer and is cause of many peoples problems, best place is to connect to cigarette lighter live or accessory socket if fitted. There is more info on the C2Sportclub website here. You may need a aerial adapter depending on the stereo you buy. Quote
