unimat4080 Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Guys, Looking at buying a good late HDI if I can find one somewhere. Does the HDI have a cable clutch or is it hydraulic ? Thanks 4080 Quote
Guest Colin Hunter Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Hi There. HDis have a Hydraulic clutch. It has a special silicone type fluid in it as far as I know. I had a 110 HDi Xantia for 6 years and had absolutely no trouble with the clutch or it's Hydraulics in that time. I put about 60 K miles on it and it was as good when I sold it as it was at 3 YO. The clutch on my 02 2.0 HDI Picasso is also Hydraulic. Have a look on Autotraders website http://www.autotrader.co.uk/ put in your postcode and do a search. Cheers. Happy hunting! Quote
Guest rowls Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 The 90bhp xantia's have a cable whereas the 110bhp's have a hydraulic one. Only problem you may encounter with the cable variety is the dreaded cable clip at the top of the pedal breaking! Quote
